College week days..

Tuesday...are you sure its not Friday yet? Tuesday's are the worst. Monday, you're still fresh (unless you partied too much on the weekend, which has been known to happen to even the best of us), Wednesday-you're half way there. Thursday, you know that tomorrow is Friday..and usually, it is mostly spent getting ready to go out that night, Friday is either a big sigh of relief..or for some of you, a day dedicated to...recovering from Thursday. Then Saturday is a day to do nothing. For some of my friends(yes I am making fun of you...) it means not showering until 10 that night before you, yes, go out again. And Sunday is movie day filled with relaxation..with a little bit of homework thrown in there somewhere. But what is Tuesday? Yep, Tuesday has to be the worst day, I'm convinced. You have to love the college student week day routines. At least we are consistent. :o) But for summer...becoming a true working woman, they all seem to run into each other..and yes, it is *still* only Tuesday. -Will write more later-

Two stories in one day?

Yes, I'm writing yet again today. It is 2:17. I just got in from my lunch break. I took my salad from Wendy's to the second floor of the Student Center, where I sat on the balcony and enjoyed the day. The weather was a bit warm, but the soothing sound of the clear water rushing above the fountain and crashing below in the pool was enough to keep me out in the heat. Campus was much more lively today, with the start of summer sessions. I took a big look at campus through eyes I've never used before, and I told myself, "it will be okay" this fall. I've been anxious, and I've been nervous, I've cried my tears...but today I saw campus from a different light and I think I will be just fine. In such a short time, Morehead became my home. I dont think it was until the beginning of the 2nd semester that I truly began to feel so at home. As soon as I nestled in, it was time to go. How awful to leave my new family that I had just learned to love to something completely new. I hope to again build something as strong and solid as I built in Kentucky. I had my friends, I had my work, and I had my busy class schedule..I simply had a comfortable routine. But today when I sat on the balcony with my book, I saw Marshall Univ. as a student, not as a child of a faculty member, not as a community member myself, but as a student. I still hope that some of my family at Morehead will be able to share part of my new routine.

Ouch, impressions!

Yes Ouch, it is 8:22 Monday morning. I have been up for approximately 2 hours. Yes, Ouch! As the rest of the world (my college world) continues to sleep, I will continue to, yes, work. Ouch! 14 more working days. Then I will be laying by a pool in Atlanta or laying on the beach of Hilton Head, basking in the sun. Hmm..nice golden tan, nice cool water. Counting the days.

Courtney blogged the path to our friendship. I will blog first impressions.

Jennifer, aka Jflo:
Seth always talking about Jflo. "Jflo jflo jflo" Katy and I were stumped, "who is this jflo character?" So here we are. Its early on Saturday morning. Katy and I wake up, eat brunch and decide to wake up Sean and Ryan. We were unsuccessful getting them up, so we thought--if you can't beat them, join them. So here we are, trying to catch some more ZZzz's. When out of nowhere appears Leah and Jflo! Yes, Jflo! We have now met infamous Jflo. Of course she was accompanied by her other half, miss Leah Kelly. It was early Saturday morning, they brought the beer and intended to watch football while all we wanted to do was sleep. Perhaps I gave a few dirty looks, or perhaps I gave many, but all I know is that Jflo and Leah were ruining our morning. Leah goes into a tangent about how "boys are so dumb" and how "she's so bad." This in turn ends up being a complete brawl between the males of the room and the females of the room. Sean is very upset, wants to kick her out of the room. Jflo sits there, like a bump on a log. That is my first impression. Wow, she's friends with her? ;)

Courtney: My first impression of Courtney came from her roommate, Shayna, who tried to kill herself as soon as I moved in. Then, I was mooned a few times as I was tryin to innocently make my way to the bathroom, by, yes Shayna. Well from what I say Courtney was friends with Shayna so I guess I kind of wrote her off. I also didn't think very highly of those girls on the 4th floor b/c when they all got caught mooning Alumni Tower, they let me take the rap for it, while I could hear them laughing next door. I still dont know to this day who was all involved but I pretty much wrote off the 4th floor. That wasn't a very good first impression. So my better first impression was at the Theta Chi house. Should I go on? Just kidding! I like giving her a hard time. But that is when we all hung out, for the first time...Leah, Jflo, Lindsey, Courtney and moi!

And now look, we're one big happy family. Okay, well us 4, including Katy.

Katy to Katie: "Hey, you live on my floor right?"
Katie: "Yes"
Katy: "That short kid over there thinks ur cute." (Meaning KC RASE!)
Katie: "Okay"

Later that week-
Katy to Katie: "want to go out with me...its this pajama party and there are never any girls out there, they want girls there (PiKappaPhi)"
Katie: "Sure"
*The rest was history*

And here we are today...hmm..funny how it works out. Gotta love those first impressions. Ouch!

PS. I have enabled comments, so shoot away.
