Happy Valentines Day!

So far so good...woke up around 3:30 due to a drunken phone call (gotta love them...or not!). Got up to use the bathroom then, to find balloons tied to my door from Cassie!! She apparently had left over balloons and thought she would give me some Valentine cheer, knowing that I wouldn't be having a Valentine this year. Then I woke up to a few Valentine cards in my mailbox from other RA's and Courtney~ Thanks guys! The best part of the day so far has to be the Valentines I got in Latin class! Since I missed last Wednesday, I didn't know that we could make a Valentine for extra credit in Latin! So, I go and find out that Brant, Tim and Steve made me a Valentine! How nice!!! They even put time and effort into it with foam hearts, markers, etc! It was so nice, they're my buddies! :) I went by my dad's office to pick up some stuff he had left me and found that he got me a Valentines plant, a big fat hershey kiss, a card and some candy for the girls on my floor! What a sweetie! So far my day has been great! Tonight I'm going to Petar's to watch some movies with some other RA's... (you know its like a cult), and then who knows what else!

Its been a year....

I remember going home for the weekend to visit the family~ it wasn't long after my grandpa passed away and I just enjoyed being around my family to get through it. So I went home for the weekend to see my dad ~ My mom was in Berkeley for Work. I remember staying up late talking on the computer when I got an IM from some really strange screen name. But he was just IM-ing me to say hi and that he saw my webpage and liked it. So we begin talking and realize that he's friends with my brother and his sister had my mom in class here at MU for a few semesters. So we keep talking- for what seems like hours and hours, but was probably only 2 hours. I ran back to Morehead on Sunday and was like "I met the man of my dreams online!" Of course it was a joke, but I really thought there was something about this guy. So I waited for what seemed like an eternity, but again was probably only a few days, until he IM-ed me again. And then it all started~ we began IM-ing each other more and more, then the emails began, and the occasional phone calls while I was at Morehead. Actually, if I remember correctly~ the first phone call came at like 12:00 something one evening and we stayed up till around 4 or 5 talking (The first time ever talking on the phone!!!! Crazy huh?). This continued for awhile....then stopped for a bit, but once I got home for summer we began talking more and more, and I realized he had become a really good friend- and I looked forward to our talks more and more. I was comfortable talking to him about anything and everything, and I realized he probably knew me better than some of my friends that I've known for years. We talked about growing up and how we would coach sports, etc. But due to other circumstances~ we kinda had to stop talking as much. But I still look forward to all his calls, or when I might see him on campus. When talking to him the other day he brought it up that it had been a year since we first started talking and I was so shocked but pleasantly surprised that he remembers! I just think its crazy that a year after an IM, we are still talking. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks it, but I guess there is something special between us and I hope we can continue to talk for maybe another year :)
